Description
Procedure - Prepare the nails, as you would do for any nail enhancement, pushing back the cuticles and buffing the natural nail with a 240grit Sponge Board. Remove dust and excess oils with a wipe saturated with Nail Wipe Solution.
Prior to applying a tip, it is imperative to protect the natural nail from not only the resin, but also the blending of the tip on the nail. Bella Forma is first applied to the natural nail to protect it. The procedure being, apply Bella Forma to ¾ of the natural nail plate, making sure you do not cover the whole nail as we do not want to have thick cuticles. Cure for 60 seconds. Wipe the nail with a wipe saturated with Nail Wipe Solution to remove the ‘sticky residue’. Buff with a 240 grit Sponge Board to remove shine.
NOTE: It would be in this first application of Bella Forma that you would build the nail to give a C-Curve if client has a ski-jump nail or any damage to the nail plate that would cause a problem when applying the tip.
Choose from the following Bella Forma Tips 360ct, Clear Traditional Tips, Natural Curvatious Tips, Natural Tapered Tips, Natural Traditional Tips and Well-Less White Tips.
Apply Bella Forma Resin to the well in the underside of the nail tip (not to much) and then carefully fit the tip to the free edge of the natural nail.
Press the tip down and hold in position for 10 to 15 seconds, making sure that the sides of the tip are also pressed into contact with the natural nail.
Be sure to squeeze out all air and excess Bella Forma Resin and maintain pressure until the resin has set.
Use tip cutters to cut the tip to the desired length, and then shape the free edge to the required shape.
The length of the tip should NOT be longer than half of the length of the natural nail bed.
The rear of the tip must be carefully blended onto the natural nail and the shine of the artificial tip removed using the 180grit Sponge Board.
Take great care not to file too much material from the top of the nail tip, as this will cause cracking of the tip. Do make sure that the tip is blended onto the gel without ‘feeling’ a ridge. The client will appreciate at this time that you are blending on the Bella Forma and not on their natural nail.
Remove dust and filings, using a Nail Technician’s Dusting Brush.
Sterilize the nail with a wipe, saturated with Nail Wipe Solution.
You are now ready for the application of Bella Forma gel, color or clear.
